Autumnal Flowers [Sep-Oct 2025]

Here's a collection of plants, flowers, and insects that i photographed in the autumn of 2025. the temperature had already begun to drop, so some of the flowers were already wilting. good thing there are plenty of species that thrive in cooler weather.

all flowers have been identified to the best of my ability. :)                                               [click picture to see full-size]

DWARF MORNING GLORY

this flower contrasts a hypnotic indigo with a scintillating sunshine yellow. it caught the corner of my eye from down below as i crossed the bridge, so i hiked down the trail to get a closer look. they were growing out of a stone plant pot that held a gigantic canna lily; thirsty for one last drink of the sun until spring.

PANSY

despite their fragile look, the pansy is a very hardy, cold-tolerant flower. they can be seen growing in sidewalk cracks and crevasses late in fall. 

fun-fact that not many know about: all pansies have crippling smoking addictions. i snuck up on this one trying to hurriedly put a cigarette out, but we both agreed that i caught it fair and square, so i made it smoke a whole carton as punishment.

hey take a picture, it'll last longer.

i don't know of a bee alive that could possibly resist that yellow hole.
